Jefferson County is gearing up to complete an update to it's Park & Outdoor Recreation Plan (PORP) to guide its future parks and recreation planning efforts from 2026 to 2031. This plan aims to outline long-term and short-term strategies for park development, guiding future decisions and resources toward a clear vision. The PORP covers the development and revitalization of parks, facilities, open spaces, and the entire recreation system. To shape this vision, the plan will include a needs assessment, community visioning, priority setting, level of service standards, and an implementation roadmap. Public involvement is essential throughout the planning and implementation phases. This website will be the main hub for asynchronous engagement and provide information about the projects progress.
