Thank you for your participation in the recent workshop event on February 11th. During the event we went through three exercises to better ascertain the future parks and recreation efforts different entities are undertaking across the County parks and recreation ecosystem. We are using this feedback within the County-wide PORP (park and outdoor recreation plan) to ensure that connectivity and resource/information sharing is a key component.
Representatives from multiple Jefferson County departments, municipality parks departments, DNR, Groundswell Conservancy, Friends of Rose Lake, Friends of Korth Park, and user group representatives were present. A few individuals listened in online to the proceedings as well.
The central guiding question for the event was: How can the County PORP help us reach our county-wide park and recreation ecosystem goals? which was split into three sections:
- Progress and Goals
- What are we working on and where do we want to go?
- Partnership Possibilities
- How can we increase efficiencies?
- Visioning & Action Plan
- Where do we go from here
The slide deck for the evening with more information about each activity process and guiding questions is included in the Resources section below.
All of the markups, notes, and ranked voting conducted has been scanned in and attached in the Resources section below as well. Summaries of these comments and priorities will be incorporated within the PORP document.
