This study aims to develop a quantitative scoring and mapping system that evaluates land suitability across ISU entities. This system will help Iowa State University strategically allocate, acquire, preserve, or dispose of land to support future growth, operational efficiency, and institutional goals of research farms.

Project Objectives

  • Create a structured, mappable system to evaluate and prioritize ISU land assets.
  • Align land use decisions with entity-specific needs and long-term strategic goals.
  • Develop a scoring matrix based on physical land attributes and organizational priorities.
  • Build a maintainable database for ongoing updates and visualization.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for future land use and acquisitions
